The 20th International AIDS Conference organizers, in collaboration with their partners and with support from the International AIDS Society (IAS), invite you to take part in the upcoming webinar titled, “Submitting a successful abstract”.

The objective of this interactive webinar is to walk you through the abstract submission process and the abstract mentor programme to improve participants' ability in preparing high-quality abstracts for acceptance at the 20th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2014).

This webinar is part of the AIDS 2014 Webinar Series, a nine-month capacity building and mobilization initiative that seeks to increase knowledge of, capacity for, and participation of young individuals, communities, leaders and scientists at AIDS 2014. Filipa Marques
Programme Officer - International AIDS Society (IAS)

Filipa Marques is Programme Officer at the International AIDS Society (IAS), and coordinates the abstract-driven part content of the conference’s programme. Filipa has studied Political Science and International Relations at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, in Portugal, and has been working in the field of Public Health for the past 10 years, in Angola, Portugal and now Switzerland, where she joined the IAS in 2012.


Mirjam Curno
JIAS Managing Editor - International AIDS Society (IAS)

Dr Mirjam Curno is the Managing Editor of the Journal of the International AIDS Society (JIAS) since April 2010. JIAS provides an open access, multidisciplinary platform for HIV research and offers capacity-building opportunities for less-experienced authors in scientific writing and publication ethics. Mirjam completed her PhD at the University of Dundee, Scotland and then moved to the University of Lausanne, Switzerland as a post-doctoral research fellow to work on viral immunity. She has facilitated numerous workshops and webinars on scientific writing, and is the co-author of the e-course on conference abstract writing hosted by the Health[e]Foundation.
