Hosting an Event in Melbourne
If you wish to plan an event that coincides with AIDS 2014, there are free local services, to help you do this. These are resource organisations staffed by experts, not commission based.
The Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) encourages you to take advantage of the FREE planning assistance for ‘out of program’ events offered by its Melbourne Meetings + Events Service (MM+ES). MM+ES’ free assistance includes: sourcing suitable venues; defining and prioritising specific event needs within budgetary guidelines; obtaining venue, entertainment and catering quotes and providing comparative costs; inspecting venues with specific event requirements in mind; and introducing planners to new meeting products and services. You can access this FREE event planning assistance at
www.mmes.com.au/

The regions just outside Melbourne also offer a huge range of venues and activities for your events including unique and nature based experiences to suit a wide range of budgets. Your delegates can experience Australian scenery and wildlife from as little as 45 minutes by train or road from Melbourne. Business Events Victoria is an organization with resources to identify suitable venues, transport and services in Regional Victoria for your events.

Also consider applying to be an Affiliated Independent Event. Affiliated Independent Events take place
outside the conference venue at times that do not conflict with the conference programme and must be approved by AIDS 2014 Organizers.
Affiliated Independent Events applications are
now open and will close on
30 June 2014.
